Comparison of non-contrast fresh blood imaging and quiescent inflow single-shot imaging at abdominal/pelvic station at 3T

چکیده
Background Despite increasing application of non-contrast techniques Fresh Blood Imaging (FBI) and Quiescent Inflow Single-Shot (QISS) in the evaluation of peripheral arterial disease (PAD), imaging of abdominal/pelvic station remains a challenge. B0 and B1 inhomogeneity, motion artefacts and poor ECG trigger may diminish the image quality and reduce the diagnostic performance. In this study, we intend to compare the performance of the two non-contrast MRA techniques at the pelvic station at 3T and evaluate their MRA image quality.

Non-contrast peripheral angiography at 3T using QISS: improving venous suppression
Background Quiescent Interval Single Shot (QISS) has emerged as a robust technique for non-enhanced angiography of peripheral arteries (1). It has been clinically validated with contrast enhanced magnetic resonance angiography (CE-MRA) and digital subtraction angiography (DSA) (2,3). Both of these validation studies were performed at 1.5T field strength. Although the initial experience with QIS...
متن کاملAssessment of Contrast Media Volume Injected and Image Contrast in Abdominal Pelvic CT Scan and Related Factors in Referral Hospitals in Mazandaran, Iran
Background and purpose: Computed tomography scan (CT) is highly capable of diagnosing abdominal and pelvic lesions. Injection of contrast media at appropriate concentration and volume provides the least side effects and the highest image quality. This study aimed at investigating the volume of contrast medium injected and the level of image contrast compared to the standard model, in the imagi...
متن کاملHigh acceleration quiescent-interval single shot magnetic resonance angiography at 3T in patients with peripheral artery disease
Background Quiescent-Interval Single Shot (QISS) non-contrast MR angiography (QISS-MRA) is an emerging technique with growing evidence for its use in the evaluation of peripheral artery disease (PAD) at 1.5T [1,2]. The use of 3 Tesla MRI scans is becoming more common in clinical practice and offers the main advantage of roughly double the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) than that of 1.5 Tesla MRI. ...
متن کاملECG gated 3D single shot FSE with variable TR for non-contrast peripheral MRA at 3T
Background ECG gated 3D single shot fast spin echo (SSFSE) sequence can be used to acquire systolic and diastolic data and the subtracted image gives the arterial blood signal. This technique, also called Fresh Blood Imaging (FBI), has been applied to image the peripheral artery without contrast infusion, in which each slice encoding (SE) step is acquired in a fixed TR (TR=n*RR). Ideally, TR sh...
متن کاملDiffusion-Weighted Imaging in the MR Evaluation of Acute Abdominal Pain in Pregnancy
Purpose Assessment of the patient with acute abdominal and pelvic pain in pregnancy by MR imaging is best addressed using non-IV-contrast techniques, given the FDA “C” classification of gadolinium-contrast agents in pregnancy (1,2). Common techniques include motion-insensitive T2W single-shot fast spin echo for anatomic assessment of structures; and T1W in-and-out of phase, T2W fat-suppressed, ...
